For me I have very fond memories of Grandma introducing us to Ascot races, we would take a little picnic and a copy of the racing post and sit in the little park on race days and pretend to put our bets on the horses. Back then our tactics were picking our favourite colours or names of the horses!
We also looked forward to our summers in Twywell and Grandma would patiently take us around all the clothes shops and she would keep Karen entertained with a bag of sweets from Woolworths. And of course the sunny walks with the dogs across the fields with cheese sandwiches to have whilst sitting under the big tree.
More recently it was a pleasure introducing her to Bethany, her fourth great grandchild. Grandma loved having cuddles and always knew how to settle a grumbling baby!
